Leadership

Aaron Loy
Founder & Pastor of Vision and Coaching

After nearly losing his sister to addiction, as a young man Aaron was first introduced to a community of people in various stages of recovery. Upon realizing that few knew Christ and fewer still would likely set foot in a typical church, Aaron and his family set out to plant a church for them. For the first time in his life, he caught a small glimpse of what Jesus’ church could be. It was beautiful. And it was messy. And Aaron fell in love with the beautiful mess of church planting.

Over the past 20+ years, Aaron and his wife Megan have continued to serve in various roles in church multiplication from coast to coast. In 2019 they took the first steps in planting a new family of missionaries and microchurches throughout the city of Knoxville.

Aaron holds an M.A. in Entrepreneurial Leadership from the Mosaic Leadership Centre and an M.A. in Transformational Leadership from Bethel Seminary. When he's not in the office, he can be found hiking, camping, golfing, fishing, smoking meat, or throwing a party with family and friends. You can catch more of his heart through his writing at www.commonpastor.org and through the SELAH podcast.

Charley Dever
Pastor of Shepherding and Teaching

In 2019, Charley and Nichole moved to East Knoxville from Chicago, IL, to plant microchurches in the urban core of Knoxville. One of the first people they were told to meet was a guy named Aaron Loy, who had just set out on a very similar journey. Three years later, Aaron and Charley felt that God might be bringing them and their communities together. He is so grateful to be a part of this passionate and experimental family of missionaries and microchurches.

Charley was born in New England and raised in Chicago. He and Nichole met while they were college athletes at Michigan State (Go Green!) and Alabama (Roll Tide!). They married in 2015 and have two sweet girls.

Charley holds an MDiv from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He loves to hike, fly fish, read books, and drink great coffee. He and his family love their neighborhood and are so glad that God brought them to Knoxville!

Chastin Stinnett
Commonwealth Kids Director

Chastin was born and raised right here in Knoxville, TN. For college she attended Eastern Tennessee State University where she earned Associate's and Bachelor's Degrees in Interior Design. It was also during college that she met her now-husband Tyler at Home Depot, where they both worked. They recently celebrated their seven year wedding anniversary and are proud parents to Huxton (2) and Erisma (1).

In addition to her family, Chastin loves her time with Jesus and being outdoors with friends and family (because it it centers me and gives me focus), good food (any food), journaling (because life is too fast), and traveling (to create memories and gain perspective.)

Her current life motto is: "I will build my life upon Your love, it is a firm foundation."
